The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has confirmed that three persons were injured in a gas explosion that occurred at Four Point by Sheraton Hotel, Oniru Vi in Lagos state on Wednesday.

The incident is said to have occurred after a gas cylinder in use by welders in the hotel’s premises exploded due to a hose leakage.
Nosa Okunbor, spokesman of LASEMA, said the injured have been taken to hospital while investigation has commenced.

He said cars and room windows in the hotel were shattered in the explosion. He added that the police and staff of the hotel are on ground assisting the agency in recovery operations.
