Some thugs have broken into a Shoprite mall and carted away tonnes of beer, whiskey, wines and other alcoholic drinks.

This happened as the country complied with the stay-at-home order to tackle the spread of coronavirus. The incident happened at Langa, Cape Town, South Africa.
The mall security, according to a report by Daily Sun, were helpless and could only watch. The stolen drinks have been estimated to cost hundreds of thousands of rands.

An eyewitness said he heard shouting in the mall and saw people running out with dozens of booze as he approached the car park.
A resident called on the government to relax the laws regarding operating hours of liquor stores in the country, saying such attacks may spread to other cities if something is not done about it.
