Bashir Ahmad, an aide to President Muhammadu Buhari, has revealed that the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, accused the Peoples Democratic Party of using the ongoing fuel scarcity to sabotage the president Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government.
His comment comes against earlier allegations made by Tinubu that some individuals were using the ongoing fuel scarcity and naira redesign policy to frustrate his effort at attaining the presidency seat.
Many had seen his comment as an attack against the president Muhammadu Buhari-led government that has failed to end the ongoing fuel scarcity and insisted on the January 31 deadline for the phasing out of old naira notes.
However, in a tweet on Thursday, Ahmad insinuated that Tinubu’s outburst was targeted at PDP not Buhari
“Our Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu today in Makurdi, Benue State, accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of sabotaging fuel supply in the country to blackmail the Federal Government for illicit political advantage,” he wrote.
