Reno Omokri, a former social media aide to ex-President, Goodluck Jonathan, has criticized Bola Tinubu, national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), for donating N50 million to victims of the recent market fire in Katsina State.
Tinubu had on Wednesday, paid a sympathy visit to traders and other victims of the market, in the company of Katsina governor, Aminu Masari.
While commiserating with them, the former Lagos governor said market activities should resume despite the level of damages and destruction recorded.
He told reporters that the purpose of his visit is to sympathise and commiserate with the victims, the governor and good people of the state, particularly the traders devastated by the fire.
He emphasised the need to promote unity and collaboration among Nigerians, saying “that Nigerians must be their brother’s keepers.”
However, Omokri berated Tinubu for ignoring traders who lost goods to fire incident and ethnic crisis in the South-west.
The former presidential aide said this in a Twitter post after the former governor announced the donation during the visit.
“Bola Tinubu, who didn’t visit or donate one kobo to victims of the Sasa market crisis, or to victims of the Ijesha market fire in Lagos, has today donated N50m to victims of the Katsina market fire. Obviously, Tinubu’s charity does not begin at home,” he wrote.
