Bola Tinubu, National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has announced a donation of N50 million to the victims of the Katsina Central Market Fire.
Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos State, made the announcement on Wednesday during a condolence visit to the Katsina State government.
He was received by Aminu Masari, the state governor, and other top government officials in the state.
Addressing journalists after meeting with the governor, Tinubu said the purpose of his visit is to sympathise with the victims of the fire.
He expressed shock over the unfortunate incident and commiserated with the victims of the incident.
He, however, advised that market activities resume despite the level of damages and destructions recorded, noting that life must continue.
The Katsina Central Market was gutted by fire on Monday, leading to the destruction of stalls and goods valued at millions of naira.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred due to the explosion from gas cylinders sold in one of the shops.
