Immediate past governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, has disclosed that President Bola Tinubu was the one pestering him to be part of his cabinet after failing to be confirmed as a minister by the Senate.
Two other ministerial-nominees, Sanni Danladi and Stella Okotete, were also not confirmed by the Senate over failure to pass security screening.
On Thursday, reports emerged online that El-Rufai had withdrawn his interest in being part of President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet and recommended Jafaru Ibrahim Sani, who served as commissioner in Kaduna State.
However, in a viral video seen on Friday by Newsbreak Nigeria, the former FCT minister, speaking in Hausa language, said, “Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the one pestering me to work with him for more than 10 times. Wallahi, Tallahi, Billahi, I am too big for someone to be my Godfather.”
Newsbreak Nigeria could not ascertain when the video was recorded but his statement suggested he was referring to his non-confirmation by the Senate.
