Reno Omokri, a former special assistant to Nigeria’s former President, Goodluck Jonathan, on Wednesday criticised Bola Tinubu, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2023 election, over his appointment of Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, as the Director-General (DG) of his campaign council.
Newsbreak learnt that the recent visit of El-Rufai to Tinubu was not unconnected to his appointment by the presidential hopeful.
The decision, it was further gathered, was taken after consultations with President Muhammadu Buhari and the party leadership.
Reacting, Omokri, who is a known critic of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), played the religious card.
“Tinubu named El-Rufai as the DG of his campaign? Wow! This is a subtle Jihad against Christians?” Omokri wrote on his verified Twitter handle.
“Presidential candidate-Muslim. Running mate-Muslim. Now DG is also-Muslim.
“The only time they needed Christians was for the Fake Bishops show they gave to Nigerians!”
