The Group Chairman, United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc, Tony Elumelu, on Sunday, called for a collective approach to nation-building through substantial investment in critical areas to drive Nigeria’s progress.
Speaking at the Nigerian Bar Association’s Annual General Conference on Sunday, Elumelu highlighted the significance of unity in achieving a true renaissance for Nigeria.
He stressed that nation-building should be a shared responsibility across all sectors, transcending political, ethnic, and socioeconomic differences.
He also urged investment in women, citing their essential role in lifting communities out of poverty.
Speaking on the needed improvements in the power sector and how it drives economic growth, Elumelu highlighted the challenges faced by the TransAfam Power Plant due to gas shortages, which symbolized broader issues in the sector.
He also expressed his deep commitment to Nigeria and called on all to work collectively to build a nation that stands as a beacon of hope and inspiration for generations to come.
