This news medium reports that the educational institute on Wednesday 6th July 2022 put together a ‘One Day Principal’ and ‘One Day HM’ initiative across its group of schools.
Apart from the ‘One Day Principal’ and ‘One Day HM’, ‘One Day Vice-Principal Academics’, ‘One Day Vice Principal Admin’, ‘One Day Assistant Head Teacher’, ‘One Day Bursars’, and ‘One Day Head of Department (s)’ were also recognised.
The 2021/2022 Academic Year edition was of a different class based on the distinctive performance of four out of the five annexes of MIMS.
For the first time since the creation of the award, the proprietor of the establishment, Professor Ismail Ayotunde Adelopo celebrated with the pupils.
Speaking at the 2022 edition of the event, the Board Chairman, Prince AbdulMujeeb Ogungbayi said all their three Nursery and Primary Schools retained their honour.
MIMS Comprehensive College Shomolu annex also won ‘One Day Principal’.
All three Nursery and Primary Schools won the slots of ‘One Day HM’, while MIMS Comprehensive College, Shomolu, won ‘One Day Principal.
Adam Abdulbasit emerged as the ‘One Day Principal’ after scoring the highest mark in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) 2022. His score was the highest in the history of MCC students writing the exam.
Recall that MIMS Comprehensive College won the quiz competition of the Muslim Students Society of Nigeria (MSSN), Shomolu branch, qualified to the zonal level, and also defeated the intellectual students of the zone to go through to the state finals where Musa Akintunde came first at the JSS Intellectual State Quiz Competition category and Isu-Momodu Muhammad came third at the Senior Intellectual Quiz Competition.
Apart from that feat, the trio of Musa Akintunde, Abduljabar Uthman, and Obasanya Amira aided MCC in winning the award of the League of Muslim School Proprietors (LEAMSP) Shomolu Quiz Competition, back-to-back.
MIMS Nursery and Primary School Surulere annex also came first at the LEAMSP Quiz Competition held in Surulere while its Shomolu annex emerged second at that zone’s LEAMSP Quiz Competition.
Annur Nursery and Primary School Bariga also distinguished itself at Education Training and Research Consultancy Annual Examination Competition.
Reacting to all these achievements, Professor Adelopo saluted the pupils for writing their names in gold. He charged them to brace up for the quest of becoming world-class personalities through academic excellence.
The Professor of Accounting and Finance called on parents to continue to have faith in the education model of the establishment under the leadership of Prince Ogungbayi, the Board Chairman of the establishment.
The occasion witnessed addresses by the ‘One Day HM’ and ‘One Day Principal’ to their colleagues on the assembly ground, and also visitation to the classes and special rooms.
The Parents Teachers Associations (PTA) across the annexes were around to encourage the students. Some of the members present were Mr. Akintunde Harun, the PTA Chairman of MIMS Nursery and Primary School Shomolu; Alhaji Adekanbi Tajudeen, the PTA Chairman of MIMS Surulere annex; Chief Keshinro, the PTA Chairman of Annur Nursery and Primary School Bariga, among others.
