Some Nigerian celebrities such as Funke Akindele Bello, Uche Jombo, Yul Edochie and others took to their Instagram page to drop messages in commemoration of the first #EndSARS anniversary.

Today marks the first year anniversary of the #EndSARS protest which allegedly claimed the life of many protesters at the Lekki Tollgate on October 20, 2020.

The Nigerian soldiers were reported to have opened fire on peaceful #EndSARS protesters, with an unconfirmed number of people reported dead.

Celebrating the one-year remembrance of the incident, below is what some of the countries prominent actors and actresses said:

Funke Akindele: “We will not forget 20.10.20 Lekki Massacre.”

Toyin Abraham: “20.10.20” with a drop of blood symbol.

Iyabo Ojo: “Silence is not an option. #Sorosoke generation.”

Uche Jombo: “October 20th is our #endsars. We will not forget you.”

Yul Edochie: “We must never forget. 20/10/2020. #endsars protest. The deaths of our heroes must not be in vain. We must remain committed to building a new Nigeria that works for all.”
