Transfer Deadline Day
Manchester United tried to acquire the services of Spanish striker, Raul de Tomas from Espanyol on Thursday.
According to Football Insider, De Tomas intends to leave Espanyol this summer.
The striker was open to exit the Parakeeters after repeated disagreements with manager Diego Martinez and was also left out of the squad for the three opening La Liga matches.
The 27 year old’s relationship with the Sporting Director Domingo Catoira has also reportedly hit the rocks.
Speaking on Friday to the press, Espanyol owner Chen Yansheng addressed the issue directly.
“There has been no mistake in the management. He wanted to leave, the final day we did not reach an agreement.
“He is one of the best players and Martinez is one of the best managers in the country. We will solve the problem,” Yansheng said.
The failed transfer move would not really worry the Reds as their forward line is already rich.
