EFL League One side, Portsmouth have confirmed the arrival of goalkeeper Joshua Oluwayemi ahead of the new campaign.
The 21-old Nigeria prospect has signed a one-year contract after leaving Tottenham Hotspur at the end of last season.
The move came after Oluwayemi trained with Portsmouth earlier in the summer, featuring as a trialist in the club’s pre-season friendly with Havant and Waterlooville at the beginning of July.
He has now signed on the dotted line at Fratton Park ahead of the 2022/23 campaign, penning a one-year deal, with Pompey having the option to extend it by a further 12 months.
Speaking after completing the transfer, Oluwayemi paid tribute to Tottenham following his transfer to join the English Premier League (EPL) side.
“It’s an end of beautiful chapter at the club,” he wrote on social media. “I want to say thank you to all the coaching staff, the fans and the teammates. Picking me up as a 10-year-old boy, it has been an eventful 11 years with many memories and @spursofficial will always have a place in my heart #COYS.”
On his move to Portsmouth, he said: “All the glory be to God. I am glad to sign for such a big club with rich history. Can’t wait to get started with @officialpompey. Let’s go!!!”
