Stoke winger, Peter Odemwingie is having a medical at Marseille ahead of a loan move. Odemwingie has six months left on his contract with an option of another year but Stoke are happy to streamline their squad. He started against Crystal Palace in the FA Cup defeat on Saturday but has made just seven appearances overall this season.In other news, Newcastle United are said to be interested in Arsenal left back, Kieran Gibbs. The defender has lost his place to Spaniard, Nacho Monreal who has been on top form this season. Chelsea forward, Loic Remy is also believed to be heading out of Stamford Bridge today with China the most likely destination. Leicester City had signalled interest in the French forward but had broken down when the player demanded a loan move.
Manchester City starlet, Bruno Zuculini is set to join AEK Athens on loan. The 22-year-old Argentine has had spells in Valencia and Cordoba as well as five appearances for Middlesborough on loan towards the end of last year. He will have a medical today before completing his move to Gus Poyet’s side for the second half of the season. Aston Villa defender, Joleon Lescott is said to be considering an offer from Major League Soccer team, LA Galaxy while Chinese side Beijing Guoan are also said to be interested. Guangzhou Evergrande remain hopeful of signing Nikica Jelavic from West Ham who are signing Emmanuel Emenike from Fenerbahce for a £730,000 loan fee with view to an £8.1m permanent.
Liverpool are still considering a move for Shakhtar Donetsk’s Alex Teixeira but are currently facing issues issues with Shakhtar’s demands. With the player having a €70million (around £53million) release clause, it is unclear if the Reds will be willing to pay that much for his services.
The big one is a news linking Manchester United to out-of-favour Arsenal defender, Mathieu Debuchy. The Red Devils are said to be desperate to sign a defender with Luke Shaw, Antonio Valencia, Matteo Darmian, Marcos Rojo and Ashley Young all missing due to injury. Arsene Wenger has, however, said that he it is likely the defender stays with the Gunners.
