The All Progressives Congress (APC) has assembled the ‘biggest and deadliest’ legal team an election petitions tribunal has ever seen to defend President Muhammadu Buhari’s victory at the polls, The Punch reports.
The squad is said to consist of Wole Olanipekun, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and former president of the Nigerian Bar Association; Festus Keyamo (SAN), spokesman for the Buhari Campaign Organisation, Akin Osinbajo, a former Attorney-General of Ogun State and younger brother to the Vice-President.

It was gathered that a former President of the NBA, Abubakar Mahmoud (SAN), Femi Atoyebi (SAN), Mike Igbokwe (SAN) and Niyi Akintola (SAN) are part of the team.
Others include election petition expert Yusuf Ali (SAN), Osaro Egbobamien (SAN), Chairman of the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria, Muiz Banire (SAN), Alex Iziyon (SAN), Banbella Anachebe (SAN), Charles Edosomwan (SAN), Funke Adekoya (SAN), Prof. Taiwo Osipitan, Ibrahim Bawa (SAN) and Yakubu Maikyau.

“The President and the APC will make the news official soon. But let me tell you without mincing words that this is the biggest and most deadly squad ever assembled for an election petition case.
“We are more than ready to face Atiku,” The Punch quoted the source to have said.
The team is expected to tackle the team of 18 lawyers assembled by Atiku Abubakar, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), at the tribunal.
