Another 234 women and children have been rescued by troops from Sambisa Forest in Borno State, the military stated Friday. Chris Olukolade, the defence spokesperson, explained the freed women and children were found in the Kawuri and Konduga end of the Sambisa forest on Thursday. Sambisa forest, a former colonial game reserve, has been a haven for terrorists since Boko Haram launched. “This set in addition to the previous individuals earlier rescued during the ongoing operation in the area,” Olukolade said. Olukolade said military operation in the forest would continue and hopes more hostages will be rescued and all terrorists camps and facilities in the forest will be destroyed. The military had on Tuesday rescued 293 girls and women currently undergoing screening.
