Two men have been arraigned before an Ebute-metta Magistrate Court for allegedly stealing two Bajaj Boxer motorcycles belonging to one Abel Nisoedo. The motorcycles, better known as ‘Okada’ were valued at N315, 000. The suspects are Solomon Akpan, 24, Sunday Uwuen, 24.
The police prosecutor, simply identified as Adebayo told the court that the defendants committed the offence on November 11, 2017 at Otto, Ebute-Metta area of the state. He added that the offence contravened and was punishable under section 287 (7) of the Criminal Law of Lagos state of Nigeria, 2015.
The suspects, who were arraigned on three counts charge of stealing, pleaded not guilty to the allegation.
“That you Solomon Akpan ‘m’, Sunday Uwuen and others at large on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned magisterial district did steal Bajaj Boxer motorcycle valued N95, 000.00 property of Abel Nisoedo ‘m’ and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 287 (7) of the Criminal Law of Lagos state of Nigeria 2015,” one of the counts charge read.
“That you Solomon Akpan ‘m’, Sunday Uwuen and others at large on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned magisterial district did steal Bajaj Boxer motorcycle valued N220, 000.00 property of Abel Nisoedo ‘m’ thereby committed an offence punishable under section 287 (7) of the criminal Law of Lagos state of Nigeria 2015.”
The Presiding magistrate, A.O Ajibade granted the defendants bail in the sum of N100, 000 with one surety who has three years tax payment evidence. The case was adjourned till December 14, 2017.
