Two persons have been confirmed dead, and three others seriously injured, after a 20-feet container fell on a commercial bus at Ilasamaja, on the Oshodi-Badagry Expressway, in Lagos State.

Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, Director-General, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), who confirmed the incident to journalists on Sunday, said the dead bodies and injured persons were taken to Isolo General Hospital by LASEMA Responder.
Oke-Osanyintolu said the two casualties are a male and female.

He said a truck with registration number SGM 715 XA, carrying a 20-ft container collided with a commercial bus under the bridge at Ilasamaja at about 7.00pm.
According to him, the container fell on the bus due to the impact of the accident, leading to the death of the two passengers.

He confirmed that two other passengers and the bus driver were rescued with injuries.
“Another three passengers escaped unhurt,” he added.
