Two tankers loaded with petrol have exploded on Otedola bridge in Lagos State.
According to reports, the explosion happened at about 2:00am on Saturday.
Nosa Okunbor, the spokesperson of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), confirmed the incident.
Okunbor explained that the incident occurred when a trailer laden with fabrics crashed into a petrol tanker.
According to him, the two vehicles were razed in the resultant inferno but no casualty was recorded.
He said: “No casualty was recorded. The fire has been put out by Lagos State Fire Fighters and LASEMA Response Team.
“Damping down concluded.”
The incident has led to traffic gridlock on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
Officials of LASEMA are currently clearing the wreckage off the bridge.
