Two men have been remanded in police custody for allegedly stealing a Blackberry phone in the Agege area of Lagos State.
The accused Umoru Sanda, 24 and Abubakar Umoru, 25, appeared before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court on a two count charge of stealing. They were said to have stolen the phone at No. 4 Kara Street, Abattoir, Oko Oba around 2pm on March 15.
The prosecutor, Insp. Benson, said the phone, which is valued at N85,000 belonged to one Hassan Sanni. He said the offence contravened and punishable under Sections 412 and 287 (1)(a)(b) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.
The presiding magistrate, O. Sule Amzat, ordered that the defendants remain in police custody till the next adjournment date when they will be properly arraigned.
The case was adjourned till April 12, 2018.
