An Ikeja Magistrates’ Court has sentenced two persons to one month community service for planning to commit crime with a toy gun.
Presiding magistrates, Sule Amzat, delivered the judgment after the defendant pleaded ‘guilty’ to the two counts charge of unlawful possession preferred against them.
The suspects, one Moses Sunday, 23, and Godwin Sunday, 24, were said to have in their possession, one toy pistol with the intent to commit crime.
Earlier, police prosecutor, Benson Enuerhi, told the court that the defendants were arrested on June 27, in the Mushin area of Lagos state. He said that the offence contravened and punishable under Sections 411 and 330 (d) of the Criminal Law of Lagos state, Nigeria 2015.
