The Niger Police Command are prosecuting two “serial thieves whose specialty is stealing motorcycles from different part of the state. The suspects, Yusuf Adamu and Garba Sadiq, are facing two counts of criminal conspiracy and theft.
The police prosecutor, Inspector Muazu Abdullahi made the allegation before a Minna Magistrate’s Court hearing the case.
Abdullahi alleged detecttives arrested Adamu anid Sadiq after receiving a tipoff on March 16.
He said the alleged offence contravened Sections 97 and 287 of the penal code.
The suspects said they were “not guilty” when the charges were read to them.
The magistrate, Amina Musa, acceded to the prosecution’s request to remand the two suspects in prison pending when investigation would be completed into their alleged offences.
Musa adjourned the case until April 16 for further mention.
