The UK Police has commenced investigation into the death of a 23 year old Nigerian man identified as Seun Isaiah McMillan who was stabbed to death on a playing field near his family home in Masefield Crescent.
McMillan was attacked and stabbed on Tuesday and died from his injuries an hour after making his way to Barnet Hospital at around 8.20pm.
Two men arrested in connection with the attack has been released by the police after questioning
According to a witness, McMillan was stabbed to death after an argument “over money” occurred between him and a group of young men on the playing field.
Autopsy, however, showed the cause of Seun’s death as a single stab wound to the chest. Detective Chief Inspector Lee Watling said: “We now believe Seun was stabbed in Cowper Gardens in Southgate and at that time there would have been a number of people there that had attended in cars.
“We are keen to speak to everyone who was there and would appeal for them to contact us. “We would also appeal to anyone who saw what cars were in Cowper Gardens at the time of the incident to also contact us.
“We continue to appeal for any witnesses to the attack, or anyone with any information about it, to contact us.”
A cousin of the deceased, who didn’t wish to reveal his name said McMillan was an easy going young man.
He said: “The last time I saw him at the park we were playing football, he loved it and played centre back. I have no idea what happened to him.”
Investigation is still ongoing by the police to find the murderer of McMillan and brink them to justice.
