Unity Bank has sacked about 215 workers as part of its commitment to ensure greater performance. Vanguard reports that the workers were sacked for their inability to cope with the bank’s new ideas and strategy. They have reportedly been compensated by the bank.

Unity Bank has been restructuring its services and strategies since it moved its head office from Abuja to Lagos. The bank has been committed to injecting fresh ideas, initiatives and energies to strengthen their various departments capabilities to pursue the attainment of strategic business focus in the Agricultural financing, retail/SMEs and development of rural economy.

It has employed about 200 people to drive its transformation initiative while about 100 other staff were said to have been promoted recently.
