Amid the horror being perpetrated by the so-called ‘Unknown Gunmen’, Nnamdi Kanu, detained leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has declared that “every form of crime and criminality in Igboland must be completely eradicated”.
Newsbreak reports that Kanu also urged people of the southeast region not to relent in fishing out the criminal elements, “who are mainly strangers on our land”.
Providing an update on Kanu’s legal team’s routine visit to the IPOB leader at the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) in Abuja, Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor, IPOB’s Lead Counsel said on Thursday that Kanu and IPOB are committed to ‘restoring sanity’ to Igboland.
“Onyendu (Nnamdi Kanu) was also briefed on the level of compliance with his directive for total sanity on our land, which is yielding the desired result. The community efforts of our people who have taken it upon themselves to confront these criminal gangs/evil elements desecrating our land, and the extraordinary feats being recorded in this volunteer services was equally shared.
“Onyendu insists that every form of crime and criminality in our land must be completely eradicated, and proceeded to urge our people never to relent in fishing out the criminal elements, who are mainly strangers on our land,” Ejiofor’s statement reads in part.
