The greatest flooding to hit Nigeria in more than ten years has claimed the lives of more than 600 people.
Many states in Nigeria have experienced flooding in recent weeks, and some inhabitants are still struggling in Kogi, Anambra, Bauchi, Gombe, and other affected locations. Many people were evicted from their houses as a result of the incidents, which also resulted in material losses.
Climate change, river overflows, dam openings, present subpar urban design practices, inadequate drainage systems, and other factors are frequently to blame for flooding in Nigeria. Heavy rains in the north of the country are likely to cause rivers to overrun their banks and result in floods in the states next to them.
The flooding which is expected to last into November has displaced over 1.3 million people with over 200,000 homes damaged.
