Some residents of Lagos have expressed divergent views on the easing of the lockdown in the state, due to the coronavirus outbreak.

President Muhammadu Buhari had on April 27, approved phased easing of a five-week lockdown imposed on Lagos, Ogun and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, beginning from May 4.
A number of the respondents who spoke to Newsbreak.ng, noted that the decision to gradually ease the lockdown was right, citing the hardship it has brought on many who live on what they make daily.

Others are of the opinion that there could be a spike in number of cases in the state, as many residents failed to comply with safety guidelines recommended by the government, such as the social distancing order, on the very first day.
