Ali Sule, an indigene of Kogi State, has shot himself in his foot while struggling to effectively handle a gun when he and four others robbed a pharamacy in Kogi State.
Narrating his ordeal in a video circulating online, Sule, who was paraded before the media at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command headquarters, explained that his friends stole two guns from policemen in Kogi State.
According to the 26-year-old, his friends used a piece of log cut from a cashew tree to hit the policemen, who were on a motorcycle along the Kabba-Gwagwa Road, disarm them and collected the guns.
Sule stated that a month after, he suggested to his friends to rob a pharmacy in order to get money, which, he said, they needed.
The suspect said he and his friends stormed the pharmacy, with him holding the gun, adding that they forcibly collected N35,000, a laptop and three phones.
He explained that while trying to scare his victims at the robbery scene, he attempted to cock the gun even though he is oblivious of how to use the weapon. He noted that in the process, his hand mistakenly touched the gun’s trigger and he shot himself in the foot.
CP Francis Mba, the Force Public Relations Officer, named the other four suspects arrested as Abdulrahman Usman (21, Kogi), Yakubu Mohammed (24, Kogi), Abdul Jubril (31, Kogi), and Samuel Edehin (21, Benue)
