A now-viral video has shown arrested protesters at the #EndSARS memorial event speaking up against the current situation in the country.

In a video shared by TheCable newspaper, protesters arrested by men of the Nigerian Police force were seen lamenting from the black maria in which they were locked.

The arrested protesters sharing their lamentations from black maria said they were unjustly arrested as officers picked them up without finding any incriminating objects in their possession.

Recall that men of the Nigerian police force clamped down on peaceful protesters at the memorial event held to honour lives lost to police brutality and the Lekki shooting incident.

Men of the Nigerian police force reportedly fired teargas at unarmed protesters that converged at the Lekki tollgate for the #EndSARS memorial.

Spokesperson of the Lagos state police command Benjamin Hundeyin supported the police officers’ actions, claiming that they needed to use minimal force to disperse protesters who were becoming unruly.
