Many doctors in Nigeria, on Tuesday, attended a recruitment and screening exercise for job positions in Saudi Arabia.

The exercise was organised by Saudi Arabian agents at the Ladi Kwali Hall of Sheraton Hotel, Abuja.

The job positions are said to be for consultants and specialists in all medical fields, except psychiatrists.

Those who attended the exercise were said to include medical consultants and doctors in various areas of specialization.

According to TheCable, each applicant paid N10, 000 as application fee, after which medical certificates, means of identification and other documents were required from the doctors at the point of documentation.

After payment, the medical doctors were screened before a panel of Saudi Arabian personnel.

The development comes amid the ongoing strike by the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD).

Many Nigerian doctors have left the country to practice abroad due to poor remuneration and unsuitable working environment.
