Adam Oshiomole, the National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, APC, on Friday, visited former Kano state governor, Ibrahim Shakarau in Kano.
According to reports, the APC national chairman was led to Shekarau’s residence by Kano state governor, Abdullahi Ganduje.
Yekini Nabena, the APC Acting National Publicity Secretary, confirmed the meeting via a video post on Twitter.
Shekarau recently announced his defection from the main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. Sule Ya’u Sule, Shekarau’s media aide, in a statement confirmed that his principal, decided to dump the PDP due to unfair treatment meted out to him and his supporters.
Sule had said, “I want confirm to you that Shekarau has decided to defect from PDP to APC due to the injustice meted on him and his supporters by the PDP leadership.
“My boss has met with Kano State Governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje in Abuja… and concluded plans for our return to APC. He will meet with all the stakeholders concern in Kano and then made his decamping public.”
Kano state has experienced a big political power play of late after Governor Ganduje fell out with his former boss, Rabiu Kwankwaso, who has since decamped to the PDP and declared his bid for the presidency in 2019.
