Some soldiers of the Nigerian Army have had fortune smile on them recently after a video surfaced online showing Bello Matawalle, Governor of Zamfara State, donating huge bundles of cash to them.

The video, which surfaced online on Saturday, showed over a dozen soldiers at a checkpoint on an expressway relentlessly hailing Governor Matawalle as he alighted from his car in the company of his security detail.

He then went to the front passenger seat of his car as his security detail brought out stacks of cash and handed it over to the soldiers, who continuously sang the praises of the governor.

The time and location of the development are, however, unknown.

Zamfara State is been currently plagued by the activities of bandits and other criminal elements.

The rise in insecurity in the state has compelled the Federal Government to launch a massive military manhunt against bandits.
