VIDEO: Soldiers Threaten To Infect Warri Women With HIV For Killing Colleague

Some unidentified soldiers of the Nigerian Army have threatened to rape and infect women in Warri, Delta State, with the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) in retaliation for the purported death of their colleague, a report has revealed.

The soldiers made the threat in a video published on an online news medium, Sahara Reporters, on Thursday after it was learnt that after some residents of the town purportedly killed a soldier as revenge for the death of an individual, allegedly perpetrated by a member of the armed forces.

An unnamed individual was reportedly shot dead on Thursday after he refused to stop at a checkpoint manned by soldiers enforcing the lockdown order declared by Ifeanyi Okowa, Governor of Delta State, due to the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in the country. The incident led to protests in the city.

In the video obtained by the aforementioned online news medium, the soldiers questioned the audacity of the residents to protest against their action, with a particular solider, who partly covered his face, declaring that “Warri people don buy trouble”.

The particular soldier bragged that he would ensure he has sex with women unprotected and infect the women and daughters of the town with HIV.
