Nigerian singer, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has told Nigerians to ensure they vote wisely when the next general elections come up in 2023.
Barring his mind on the state of the country and its leadership on Twitter on Wednesday, the “Joro” crooner lamented that the country’s leaders have consistently neglected the welfare of Nigerians.
Responding to a tweet by his former label boss, Banky Wellington (aka Banky W), on the slash of the education and health allocations in the 2020 budget, Wizkid described Nigeria as a “mess” which has “useless leaders”.
Replying to a request by a Twitter user to release a socially conscious song emphasising the challenges bedevilling the country, the Starboy Entertainment CEO said musicians such as the late Fela Anikulapo-Kuti have sung songs detailing bad leadership and governance in the country.
He, however, lamented that nothing has changed, despite the popularity of such songs.
