Gernot Rohr, Super Eagles coach has said that he will hire a second fitness trainer for the team ahead of next year’s World Cup in Russia. The trainer has been identified as Bernard Gines, who had worked with the German tactician during his spell at OGC Nice, a Ligue 1 side, between 2002 and 2005.
Rohr, while promising to get his players in top shape ahead of the tournament, said the team will with FieldWiz, an application that accurately measures the physical contribution of a player in training or a match, like miles covered, speed and reaction.
Rohr also said he will also step up his scouting so that only the best players will make a provisional squad of 30 players preparatory to the World Cup.
The Super Eagles have been placed in Group D of the tournament along with Argentina, Croatia and Iceland.
