Orji Kalu, former Abia State governor, has expressed hope that governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers will join the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Kalu, who is the senate chief whip, said the party needs Wike.
The former governor said this while addressing journalists, after Wike led him on a project inspection around Port Harcourt, the state capital, on Thursday.
He urged Wike to work with the APC and also reduce his criticism of the ruling party.
“He [Wike] is a man needed by us in the APC, it is my belief that a messiah can come from anywhere,” he said.
“I urge the Governor to partner with the APC, I discussed with him all through the night to find a common ground with the APC. I believe that very soon it shall come to reality.
