Adamu Garba, a former presidential aspirant and owner of the Crowwe app, has explained the sudden disappearance of the app from the Google Play Store, saying the company removed it and was that it was not pulled down by Google as insinuated.
Garba said in an Instagram post on Monday while reacting to the disappearance of the app from the play store.
The Crowwe app, which has been described as an instant messaging and financial transaction app that comes with a digital wallet that helps to transfer and receive money while chatting, was suddenly missing from the list of apps on the play store on Monday.
This led to speculations that the app may have been removed by Google for either bad reviews or copyright infringement.
But providing a clarification, Garba, a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), stated that the company discovered a “bug” on its android list and subsequently took it down.
The politician said the company is “currently updating the code”, adding that it will be re-listed on the play store soon.

Following the suspension of Twitter in Nigeria by the Federal Government, Garba, an ardent critique of the microblogging site, presented the Crowwe app as an alternative to the microblogging website that can help “to grow Nigeria”.
Twitter users, however, criticised the application on many grounds including its privacy policy. For instance, critics discovered that Crowwe’s Terms and Conditions were copied from another app, Spotify.
The app has also received terrible reviews on the play store before its disappearance.
