Traders around isheri roundabout, Alimosho Local Government Area, Lagos, have expressed joy at the #EndSARS protest in the area, saying they have been making brisk business since it started on Friday.
A soft drinks seller, who identified herself as Mrs Chijioke, told Newsbreak that she does not mind the protest as it has boosted her sales.
“Nothing like disturbing our market, it is a peaceful protest, i make sales more than usual ,by the grace of God I make good sales, I sell petty petty things like minerals, bottle water, groundnut and drinks,” she said.
A fruit seller, who declined mentioning her name, said she is happy with the protest and has made more sales.
“I de sell small small but e no too much, them they buy and I like Wetin de well well, she said.
According to Mrs Balogun, the area is normally a busy and commercial area but with the ongoing protest it has boosted sales and she does not mind the protest as long as it is peaceful.
However, Ugwu Johnson, a phone accessories seller, said the protest has affected his sales negatively.
“I am into phone and phone accessories business, what they are doing In isheri here is affecting us, it is really really affecting us but we love it, so that government can do something based on what is on ground in Nigeria now, but regardless of how we love it it is still affecting us, the only people that it did not affect are people selling alcohol and food items,” he said.
