President Muhammadu Buhari, on Saturday, said his administration has made “tremendous” progress in war against corruption, improving security in the country, as well as the economy.
Buhari, who is the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in next week’s presidential election, stated this during the party’s mega campaign rally at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere, Lagos State.
The President was said to have met with the private sector in Lagos, which prompted his late arrival to the campaign ground.
He spoke for a short time during his address, starting with appreciation to party’s supporters, who he said defied the scorching weather to attend the event.
“We thank you very much for defying the weather to see us and listen to us.
“I assure you that the promise we made in 2015, based on which you elected us, we’ve made tremendous progress in security, economy and fighting corruption,” he said.
Buhari promised that his administration will do more when re-elected on February 16.
He afterwards acknowledged Jide Sanwo-Olu, the APC governorship candidate, as the incoming governor of the state.
