Chris Oyakhilome, founder of Loveworld Incorporated, has questioned pastors endorsing COVID-19 vaccines and encouraging their church members to take them.
The Federal Government had received 3.92 million doses of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine on March 2, and has begun vaccination of Nigerians against the virus.
Some Christian and Muslim leaders in the country have been encouraging their followers to receive the vaccine, with pictures of some of the religious leaders receiving jabs posted online.
However, Oyakhilome has maintained that the pandemic is a hoax.
While preaching during a programme in his church recently, the pastor said it is not the calling of pastors to recommend vaccines to people, when they should be solution to problems confronting mankind.
He questioned the faith of the pastors whom he accused of glorifying the deadly disease.
“I can’t understand how a minister of the gospel would be waiting for some vaccine to be the solution for the world. Where were your faith? What happened to you? We cannot make such recommendations, it is not our calling to make such recommendations. We cannot be used for that. As a minister of the gospel, you should not be used for that,” he said.
“How can you become a minister, a preacher of vaccines? What happened to you? Where is the word of God in your mouth?
“Do you realise that if you would believe in Christ and in the word of God the way you believe in this vaccine, there will be power in your mouth? He made us healers.”
“What is wrong? What happened to you?…”
