The White House has lifted a lockdown it was forced to order after a small aircraft violated airspace rules on Tuesday.
Fighter jets were seen scrambled in Washington following the incident. The lockdown lasted less than 30 minutes, according to a report by CNBC.
“The White House was locked down this morning due to a potential violation of the restricted airspace in the National Capital Region,” a Secret Service spokesman told CNBC in a statement. “The lockdown has been lifted at this time.”
The North American Aerospace Defense Command said the plane was not considered hostile.
A security alert was also reportedly raised at the Capitol building.
