The Ogun State Police Command has explained why drug dealers in a hideout it busted at Mayas, Lafenwa, Abeokuta North Local Government Area, escaped.
Edward Ajogun Commissioner of Police, said the criminals could not be engaged in a gun duel to avoid civilian casualties.
He said this while displaying exhibits at the police headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta.
The Command recovered N2,722,750 in cash and over N10 million worth of hard drugs after raiding a suspected drug cartel in the state.
Others include: 110 parcels of weed suspected to be Indian hemp, 50 packs of codeine, 12 packs of Rephnol, six packs of uniplex codeine, four packs of Pandeen expectorant, two packs of emzoline, three packs of backwoods honey, one carton of max cough codeine, battle axes, cutlasses and dangerous charms.
Ajogun said his men are on the trail of the criminals.
