Arsene Wenger has said midfielders, Tomas Rosicky and Jack Wilshere are back in full training and may be nearing a first team come-back. The players, along with goalkeeper Petr Cech are back in training but are doubts for the weekend clash against Watford. Arsenal’s run of poor form coincided with a number of injuries to key players with the Gunners extending a once two-point distance to 11 behind Leicester City.
“Wilshere and Rosicky are back in full training,” Wenger told Arsenal.com.
“Cech is going back to normal training. It’s too early to say if he will be available for the weekend. He might be a bit short to be competitive.”
On whether the Englishman would be fit enough to play Watford on Saturday, Wenger said, “Not yet, no, we have not decided that yet,”
“It is his first week back in full training and we’ll see how he responds to that, but the first signs are quite good. We’ll assess our options next week.”
The squad is still missing the services of Aaron Ramsey, Santi Carzola, Mathieu Flamini and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Although Ramsey is expected to be back in action along with Flamini, but Cazorla and Oxlade-Chamberlain remain long-term concerns.
