A woman, Blessing Ohare Ukhurebor, has allegedly burnt her l 36-year-old live in boyfriend, John Emeka Obodoechina alive in Lagos. She was also said to have sustained some burn injuries and recuperating in a hospital. A report claimed Blessing was angered by John’s decision to quit the relationship. John, it was claimed, gave Blessings aggressive nature, including several knife threats by her, as reason for his decision. On the fateful day, Blessing allegedly got some fuel, which she poured on John and lit him up in the apartment where they both lived in the Agbara area of Lagos.
John’s elder brother, Obodoechina Senior, said John only told him about Blessing but he had not met her. He also claimed John some time visited his office to complain about Blessings behaviour.
“There was a day John came to my house at an odd hour and complained bitterly about Blessing. I advised him that if they were not compatible, they should go their separate ways before something dreadful would happen”, Obodoechina said.
John’s sister, Angela Ibrahim, said: “When we got to John’s house, we saw John bent on the bed, totally burnt. There was no electricity and the gas cooker in the kitchen was not affected. The two phones were there.
“There were no signs that the gas cooker or phone caused the fire. It was only John and the area he was laying that was burnt”, she stated.
Meanwhile, John’s corpse had been deposited at the Badagry General Hospital.
