Jackline Anyango, a middle-aged woman identified, has been arraigned before a Kisumu court in Kenya for allegedly assaulting her neighbour with brassiere.
Appearing before Chief Magistrate Peter Gesora, the court heard how Anyango assaulted Vivian Adhiambo on June 25, at Obunga in Kisumu County, by slapping her on the neck using a bra.
The defendant was charged with malicious injury to property contrary to section 339(1) of the penal code, and willfully and unlawfully damaging a radio and a chair said to be properties of the victim.
Anyango, who was also accused of stealing a mobile phone worth ksh15,500, however, pleaded “not guilty” to all the charges read to her before court.
In her defence, she told court that Adhiambo threatened that she will use all the money she has to ensure that she is locked up.
“She told me that she has a lot of money and she will ensure that I am arrested,” she said.
She was released on a bond of ksh30,000 by the magistrate who adjourned the case till September 21, 2021.
