Bola Amusat, 46, was arraigned Friday before an Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun for allegedly receiving stolen items including body creams and batteries.
The prosecution claimed Amusat, who resides at No 26, Adewale St., Iyana-Iyesi, Ota, conspired with two others to commit the crime.
Cpl. Abdulkareem Mustapha, the prosecuting police office, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on Oct. 27 at about 5.00 a. m. at Ijoko, Ota.
“These stolen items are six packs of batteries; six packs of cream and other valuable items valued N100,000, belonging to one Bola Oladimeji, ‘’ the prosecutor said.
He said that the offences contravened Sections 324 and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty.
The Senior Magistrate, Mrs A F. Ojelade, granted N100,000 bail to the defendant, with two sureties in like sum.
She said that the sureties must be resident within the court’s jurisdiction and swear an affidavit of means.
Ojelade also ordered that the sureties should show evidence of tax payment to Ogun Government and submit four recent passport photographs to the court.
She adjourned the case until Dec. 1 for hearing.
