A woman has locked up and starved her two-year-old babies for three days, threatening to kill them if anybody intervened.
The incident happened at Igbara Odo, Ekiti South West Local Government Area of the state.

Reports quoted the woman as saying she was protesting her abandonment by the father of her children since she got pregnant.

Tunde Mobayo, state Commissioner of Police, said his men were called to the scene by a good Samaritan. He said the children were immediately taken to a hospital for medical examination and treatment, adding thet investigation has commenced.

He vowed that the children and their mother would be protected.

Sunday Abutu, the Police Public Relations Officer, Sunday Abutu, who made this known in a statement, said the woman claimed the father of her children fled to Calabar, the Cross River State capital, and abandoned them.

He said the children could neither work nor stand on their own, explaining that the issue was caused by malnutrition.
