The Delta State police command has arrested Emma Ereegarnoma, a suspected internet fraudster, for allegedly attempting to pluck out his mother’s eyes for money rituals.
The suspect was said to have made the attempt on September 14 at his residence in Okuokoko town, Okpe Local government Area of the state, in a bid to buy a Mercedes Benz.
It was gathered that he had invited his mother, who is a petty trader, to his house for a surprise.
Ereegarnoma reportedly turned on the music after his mother arrived at his home.
According to Gborienemi Mark-charles, who narrated the incident on Facebook, after welcoming his mother, the suspect locked the door and started strangling her.
It was said that he attempted to pluck out her eyes, as her cry for help could not be heard due to the loud music.
Miraculously, she was able to break free and ran out to the neighbours who rescued her.
The son was consequently apprehended and handed over to the police.
Ereegarnoma was said to have bragged about buying a Benz GLK this week.
He is now being detained at the Orerokpe police station, while his mother is receiving medical care at a hospital in Okuokoko.

“She narrated the story that for some days now d son has been Boasting that he must Drive GLK this week, So on Tue at about 8pm the son invited her to his house at Caroline street okuokoko that he had surprise for her . On Getting there she saw the son in joyous mood with loud music, then after the son Lock the door and was trying to strangle her to death by trying to pluck off her Eyes, she started screaming for help but due to the loudness of the music there was no Respond,
“But strength came upon her and she ran outside for help and neighbours came for her Rescue and d son was caught and has been taken to Orerokpe police station .
“Currently Mrs Oke is receiving treatment in an Hospital in okuokoko.”
