Ashley Young has penned a one-year contract extension with Manchester United. The deal will keep the man at Old Trafford until 2019. The 32-year-old was due to become a free agent at the end of the season but has now been tied down after the club took the option of a 12-month extension in his contract.
Young, who joined United in 2011 from Aston Villa, has been deployed as a left-back under Jose Mourinho. He has made 30 appearances for the Red Devils this season.
Also, he has been invited to the England squad for friendlies against the Netherlands and Italy. The invitation is seen as a possible way for the pacey winger to make it to the Three Lions’ World Cup squad.
