Abdul Mahmud, a human rights lawyer, has asked Governor Nyesom Wike to sack Promise Nwosu, his Chief Security Officer (CSO), saying he was brutal when he was head of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) in Omoku, Rivers State.
Mahmud, known as Great Oracle on Twitter, said Nwosu was said to have been involved in extra-judicial killings and torture during his time as leader of the now disbanded police unit.
He added that failure to relieve Nwosu of his duties will amount to hypocriy by the governor after he lent his force to the protesters’.
Dear HE @GovWike, there are specific #EndSars complaints against your CSO, Promise Nwosu, while he was OC SARS, Rupkwoku. The complaints involved torture and extra-judicial killings, including killings in Omoku
