Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli, Emir of Zazzau, Kaduna State, has raised an alarm over the rate of kidnappings in the emirate.

The emir, who received a delegation of security heads led by Samuel Aruwan, Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs in the state, on Monday, in his palace in Zaria, lamented that residents are having sleepless nights due to abductions within the town and its environs.
The traditional ruler noted that people no longer feel safe even with security formations and military training schools within the emirate.

He said the situation is not unacceptable and urged the government to take urgent action.
The security situation in Zaria has worsened over the past few days.
Gunmen suspected to be bandits were said to have kidnapped at least 12 persons, including a family, in Kofar Gayan and Kofar Kona areas of the ancient town on Sunday.

Kidnappers had also on June 11 attacked Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic located in the town, abducting eight students and two lecturers who are still with their captors.
